Sage Offers Three New Mobile Apps for Business Solutions

Three new mobile apps are now available from Sage North America. They are Sage Mobile Sales, Sage Mobile Services, and Sage Billing and Payment.

As with other offerings from the company, the new Sage mobile solutions provide round the clock access for businesses, with better productivity, and they lead to faster payments.

Sage Mobile Sales provides customer history, product availability and an online product catalog. Via the solution, sales reps can process quotes and orders, take payments and collect signatures using an iPad. Sage Mobile Service lets dispatchers use a web portal to schedule work orders, view completed orders and send invoices. Also, field technicians can see previous work, offer info on parts used, and collect payments. In addition, Sage Mobile Sales and Mobile Service can be downloaded in Apple iTunes.

Sage Billing and Payments works with browsers, and automates accounts receivable. It accepts electronic payments and sends email invoices.

The new offerings come at a time when mobile apps are gaining in popularity.

"Mobile applications are the way to go, especially for small businesses that are trying to increase efficiencies and better serve customers," Nick Castellina, an analyst at Aberdeen, said in a statement. "Providing the full ERP [enterprise resource planning] suite on a mobile device can be cumbersome; these apps, on the other hand, contain the essential functionality necessary for a mobile user. Further, the data cloud makes business operations easier for smaller organizations that don't have the internal IT resources of their bigger competitors. Both technologies are really about making business easier, and that is what the growing business is seeking."

Overall, the Sage Group provides small- and medium-sized enterprises with business management software and services. These include accounting, payroll, enterprise resource planning, customer relationship management, and payments. Sage has over 6 million customers, as well.

"Sage is on a mission to provide the most purposefully built mobile solutions on the market," Himanshu Palsule, CTO and head of product strategy at Sage North America, added in the statement. "We've developed our solutions to deliver maximum value for each person. We didn't want to just create another mobile version of our existing software; instead, we intentionally took advantage of the mobile platform to streamline processes and create a competitive advantage for businesses using Sage mobile applications and services in the field. As we continue building our mobile line, we will look to expand mobile functionality across products and markets to drive scale and volume. Sage also plans to enable alliances and partners to participate in the Sage mobile ecosystem as well as enhance the existing infrastructure for a consistent global deployment."
