Aerotel Introduces New Hand-held ECG Monitor Featuring 3G Cellular Module

Telemedicine solutions provider Aerotel Medical Systems has created a new mini-sized monitor known as the HeartView P12/8 Mobile that makes it easier for medical professionals to obtain patients' recorded ECGs, while helping patients maintain normal lives.

The hand-held personal device is equipped with high-resolution 12-lead ECG recording technology and features a 3G cellular module, the latter allowing for the seamless transmission of recorded ECGs to either a cardiac call center or directly to a physician's email address. The ECG data can be transmitted regardless of where the patient is or what time it is.

The device can remotely monitor chronic heart patients, assist in the diagnosis of cardiac symptoms and provide cardiac analysis for clinical studies.

"Aerotel's new ECG mobile solutions are geared towards improving patients' quality of life by enabling remote monitoring of chronic heart patients," Aerotel's President and CEO David Rubin said in a statement.

The HeartView P12/8 Mobile is the latest model of Aerotel's HeartView ECG product line.

The products are part of the company's Heartline system which gives patients the ability to live their life with the assurance that medical help is only a phone call away in the event that a change in their heart condition occurs. The system consists of a range of personal and 1 to 12 lead transtelephonic or digital ECG devices that are intended for diagnostic, emergency and monitoring service applications. ECG recorded signals are sent by phone or over the Internet to a medial center that has a PC-based ECG receiving station, which displays the data to be analyzed and evaluated.

Heartline products include HeartView P12/8 Plus, HeartView P12/8 BT, Heart2005A, HeartOne, Heartine Remote Receiver and Heartine Receiving Station.

Aerotel will present the new HeartView P12/8 Mobile along with its other telemedicine solutions at the GSMA Mobile World Congress, which takes place Feb. 24-27 in Barcelona.
