Ubuntu Smartphones Are All Set to Hit the Markets

Ubuntu smartphones have created a lot of interest in the last few months because of the many superior features that are included. These smartphones are likely to offer a fresh UI for users by giving them information and services at the touch of a finger rather than hiding it behind apps. This is exciting for consumers because they get to be more engaged with their videos, music and other activities.

Another unique aspect of Ubuntu phones is that it runs well on entry-level smartphones as well, thereby making data and apps more accessible to people around the world. Also, it comes with many features such as superior search engine, a favorite app list, gallery to store and share pictures, a better control over settings and the intermingling of web and native apps.

Ubuntu phones are an exciting product for developers as well because they can now create native apps or HTML5 apps with Ubuntu's SDK. Ubuntu is expected to bring a lot of opportunities for cellphone operators too as the phone ships with a UI common toolkit. Using this toolkit, providers can customize the phone to suit their business ideas. This is a fresh perspective because in the existing smartphones, the operators will have very little scope to make any changes to the phone's software. To make the most of these possibilities, companies such as BQ in Spain and Meizu in China have partnered with Canonical to sell these phones in their respective countries.

This is big news for Canonical cell phone providers and consumers because Ubuntu phones will now be more easily available in these countries. Meizu has a strong presence in China with more than 600 retail stores across China, Hong Kong and Russia while BQ has a big market in Europe. This strategic partnership will help these cellphone providers to customize the product according to their preferences and consumers will be able to walk into a store and buy it. Other service providers have also expressed interest and it is not long before Ubuntu phones will be available worldwide.
