Comings & Goings: Kony Names New CEO, Thomas E. Hogan

Thomas E. Hogan has been named the new chief executive officer of enterprise mobility company Kony, Inc., which will be aiming to drive sales and expansion with the help of his background in the enterprise software market.

Hogan will be bringing experience from several different roles in the software industry to his new post at Kony. He previously served as executive vice president of software at HP, was chairman and CEO of content management firm Vignette, and held multiple leadership roles at Siebel Software. He will be succeeding Raj Koneru, who served as CEO since 2007 and is the company’s founder and chairman.

“It is an honor to succeed Raj Koneru as chief executive officer of one of the most innovative companies in the enterprise mobility market,” said Thomas E. Hogan in a statement. “Raj and team have created an enormously successful company. Working together we will build on Kony’s success and momentum, and most importantly, will help organizations around the globe better leverage the power and impact of mobile applications.”

Raj Koneru spoke highly of his company’s new CEO and the direction it is headed:

“To capitalize on the opportunity presented by the explosive global growth in the mobility market, it was time to bring in a new CEO and Tom clearly has the proven operational experience to help scale the company and take Kony to the next level,” he said. “His proven experience with some of the world’s largest and most successful enterprise software companies will be a huge asset.”

Kony is a multi-channel application development platform (MADP) and has seen 900 percent growth over the last three years, according a company statement. The company boasts that it currently has hundreds of enterprise customers and serves over 20 million mobile app users every day.

“Kony is uniquely positioned in the enterprise mobility market,” said Koneru.
