Motorola XOOM 4G LTE Upgrade to be Available Beginning Tomorrow

The Motorola XOOM 4G LTE upgrade will be available today for existing Motorola XOOM customers, said the company officials in a release.

Beginning Oct. 13, the Motorola XOOM 4G LTE will be available in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores and online, with a new two-year contract. Motorola XOOM customers can visit www.verizonwireless.com/Xoom4GLTEupgrade for complete instructions and to begin the 4G LTE upgrade process.

An email notification with instructions will be received by the customers who signed up for email alerts.  In approximately six business days, customers can also expect to get their updated Motorola XOOM with 4G LTE back.

The 4G LTE upgrade is free of charge and customers do not have to change their current data plan when upgrading to 4G LTE. Prior to shipping, customers are encouraged to back up any personal information.

The Motorola XOOM experience is enhanced by faster speeds and connections. Customers, with the help of this upgrade are allowed to download songs in seconds and movies in minutes. They can also expect average download speeds of 5 to 12 Mbps and upload speeds of 2 to 5 Mbps in 4G LTE mobile broadband coverage areas.

It features 32 GB built-in storage, with microSD card slot that supports additional 32 GB. It also boasts of Android 3.2 Honeycomb that supports Google Mobile Services including Gmail, YouTube, Google Talk, Google Search, Google Maps, Google Movies, Google Books and Android Market.

Officials said that when customers travel outside of a 4G LTE coverage area, the Motorola XOOM automatically connects to the Verizon Wireless 3G network, helping them to stay connected from coast to coast.
