Digi Introduces Low Cost, Enterprise-Class 2.5G/3G/4G Cellular Router

Digi International, a major player in commercial grade device networking and an innovator of wireless machine-to-machine device networking products, launched a low cost, enterprise-class 2.5G/3G/4G cellular router, the Digi TransPort WR21, for network back-up and remote device connectivity applications.

Compact and flexible, the newly announced router offers feature sets which scale from basic connectivity to high-end routing with advanced functionality such as dynamic routing, security and firewall capabilities and optional two-port Ethernet switch.

In a release, Larry Kraft, senior vice president of global sales marketing, Digi International, said, "No other router offers the same level of high-end functionality and flexibility for a similar price.

“The Digi TransPort WR21 offers enterprise-class functionality in a compact commercial-grade form factor for less than the price of most basic cellular modems. From remote industrial applications to remote site network back-up, customers can choose the right solution to fit their needs."

The Digi TransPort WR21 is ideal for connecting remote devices in energy management, medical, industrial, point-of-sale, kiosk, lottery and financial applications.

Available in standard and enterprise-class software versions, the Digi TransPort WR21 is also used by Comms365 Limited, a mobile data aggregator and provider of innovative fixed IP 3G services for M2M applications, for 3G connectivity to its customers' remote devices and for network backup applications.

Officials said that the standard router features an RS-232 serial port, one Ethernet port, two SIMs, basic routing, IP Passthrough, IP Filtering, Digi SureLink and Digi RealPort COM port redirector.
