Tempest Telecom Solutions Expands 4G Site Ready Program to Include DAS and In-Building Wireless Services

Tempest Telecom Solutions, a provider of infrastructure equipment to carriers and network operators, announced the expansion of its 4G Site Ready Program to include distributed antenna systems (DAS) and in-building wireless services.

Leveraging Tempest's 4G Site Ready Program, carriers can plan and implement base station site for quick rolling out of 4G services.

To speed up the 4G rollouts across the nation, carriers are looking for small cell and DAS solutions to satisfy the demand for mobile data bandwidth and coverage, according to a press statement.

Tempest's DAS solutions are designed to boost in-building wireless signal strength and coverage in facilities such as campuses, stadiums, hospitals and resorts. The solutions are expected to provide faster data transmission rates and increased network capacity.

The 4G Site Ready Programs from Tempest include 4G equipment and services including turnkey microwave and optical backhaul engineering, installation, capacity upgrade & maintenance; fiber connectivity prep; eNodeB installation; router installation; power and HVAC audit and upgrade; and 4G RF services which include PIM & sweep testing, antenna additions, replacements or sharing.

At 4G World, Tempest showcased 4G products from partners Alcatel-Lucent and Eltek Valere.

The Alcatel-Lucent 9500 Microwave Packet Radio (MPR) provides IP and TDM traffic, enabling a smooth transition to 4G for base station backhaul.

Besides its partners’ products, the company is showcasing Tempest's Custom Cabinet Assembly solution, which is a multi-vendor custom solution designed to be bolted onto an existing outdoor base station, to house equipment for IP backhaul termination such as an Alcatel-Lucent 7705 Service Aggregation Router.

Recently, Tempest Telecom Solutions announced the acquisition of significant assets and intellectual property related to Coastcom and Bayly networking products from the Receivers of Bayly Communications. Tempest now owns all rights to the Coastcom and Bayly product lines and has also retained the services of key personnel of the defunct company.
