SDT Earns Recognition for Leveraging New Technology to Help Improve 4G Service Carriers' Speed to Market

In recent years, there has been a dramatic rise in the demand for bandwidth. In a tight economy, the carriers and developers seek the maximum use of their development dollars for fiber to the home, fiber optic to cell site, backhaul and long haul fiber deployments.

Brookhaven, MS-based telecommunications infrastructure services company, Southern Diversified Technologies, Inc., (SDT) is one of the few organizations that has been taking up the right initiatives and adopt right technologies to help these demanding customers meet their needs. It comes as no surprise then that SDT was recently featured in the November issue of the OSP Magazine article “From the Ground Up.”

The company has earned recognition for utilizing unique capabilities such as Aerial Data Capture and Integrated Project Delivery to improve 4G service carriers' speed to market on fiber optic to cell site project.

SDT provides a wide variety of infrastructure related services on a national scale.

Performing a unique blend of Outside Plant Engineering & Construction, Inside Plant Installation and Maintenance, Real Estate, Right of Way and Building Services, SDT has been recognized in national forums as a leader in GIS based design, utilizing Lidar, Ortho-photography, partnerships with ESRI and Clearion Software as well as a host of proprietary software and data gathering capabilities. The company has worked on a wide variety of large scale fiber optic deployments for several national telecommunications carriers.

“Our customers are looking for added value in all aspects of their developments, from design to construction and implementation – by combining all of these functions under one umbrella, utilizing the latest in technology, we exceed those expectations,”

CEO of SDT Charlie Smith proudly claimed in a statement.

Earlier this year, SDT announced that it had begun work on a large scale fiber optic project for a nationally recognized telecommunications carrier that will vastly improve the broadband capacity throughout the State of Mississippi. SDT exhibited its capabilities, at the TIA Expo in Dallas in May.

They also exhibited at the Mississippi Business Journal, Business and Technology Expo in Jackson, MS and also placed third in the 2010 “Hot Technologies” competition at the National Telecommunications Cooperative Association (NTCA) annual conference and convention in Tampa, FL in recognition of the firm's unique use of Aerial Data Capture in outside plant infrastructure developments.
