AirTouch and Elephant Talk Sign Letter of Intent for Implementation of MVNE Platform across the U.S.

AirTouch Communications recently made an announcement that they have signed a letter of intent with Elephant Talk Communications Corporation. This is for the deployment of a mobile virtual network enabler platform in the United States. This would be connected to the Mobile Network of the LightSquared 4G LTE network. As per the agreement Elephant Talk will have to make available a full Mobile Virtual Network Enabling system. It will have to include a gateway support network, an intelligent networking platform and a customer relationship management platform. Along with this, it will also need to have a full rating and billing platform as well as a STP/signaling platform for AirTouch to be able to launch its services all across the country. A final agreement will soon be arrived at by the two parties involved.

In a release, Hide Kanakubo, AirTouch CEO, said, "We are extremely pleased to be affiliated with Elephant Talk, which has a strong, international track record of providing its partners with a full suite of integrated support coupled with cutting-edge technology, all at affordable rates. This is a step for AirTouch to be a cost effective provider of mobile phone services directly to our customers with 4G LTE service from LightSquared and all transactions enabled by Elephant Talk."

AirTouch products bring together a number of services that also include voice, data/Internet, security services as well as video across the cellular network. AirTouch provides futuristic and superior performing, consumer-friendly cellular cordless telephone technology and wireless signal amplification products to both businesses and consumers. Included in this list of services is cell@home, HomeConnex, UFO and Focal Point products. All of these are retailed via a number of channels.

Along with the LightSquared network, AirTouch now plans to provide its own branded wireless connectivity. This will spring open a fresh revenue stream. Consumers as well as businesses that buy AirTouch products can easily sign up for AirTouch wireless connectivity that comes along with these devices. Besides others, AirTouch plans to provide its devices through LightSquared's wholesale partners too.

Steven van der Velden, Elephant Talk, CEO said, "Elephant Talk offers many advantages to our partners, such as an established and proven record in several deployment models and geographies, integrated organization, flexibility, and lower total cost of ownership, avoiding awkward, expensive hardware upgrades and software licensing renewals. We look forward to expanding our footprint in the U.S. in conjunction with AirTouch and its partner, LightSquared."
