Xplore Unveils New iX104C4 Rugged Mobile Computer

Xplore Technologies Corp., a manufacturer of rugged mobile computers, has introduced its new iX104C4 Tablet PC.
 
The iX104C4 design employs sunlight readable display technology, Dual Mode flexible user interface, redesigned antennae, new integrated wireless modules, Windows XP Tablet PC Edition/ Vista Business compatibility and improved overall performance.
 
The iX104C4's key features include 1.2 GHz Intel Core Duo processor, 50% brighter Dual Mode AllVue Xtreme display technology, integrated RS232/422/485 serial port, 2X improved reach with 802.11n Wi-Fi at 2.4 GHz as well as 2X more memory capacity.
 
The need for rugged computing devices has of late gone up significantly. Based on customer input and the needs of our target markets, the company has developed the iX104C4 to be a computing tool to address the difficult extremes of any situation - in the field, on a forklift, in a vehicle, on a mobile cart or in a tank. iX104C4 is expected to address customers' ever-changing situations with enhanced benefits.
 
"Our new iX104C4 has the best indoor/outdoor viewable display in the market today and signifies another milestone for Xplore as we continue to innovate in the rugged tablet computing segment," said Mark Holleran, President and Chief Operating Officer of Xplore.
 
One of the first users of the new iX104C4 is Hydro One, the largest electricity transmission and distribution company in Ontario, Canada, where the new units have been tested for several months. "The Xplore tablet is a champion in design, and the newest generation is no exception," said Blain Smith, Hydro One. "We tested the new iX104C4 and experienced 20 percent greater performance than other rugged products."
