, a provider of end-to-end broadband wireless systems, has reportedly launched its new 4G backhaul product lines, the Tsunami QB-8100 point-to-point and the Tsunami MP-8100 point-to-multipoint.
Both the products are stated to exceed the International Telecommunications Union’s performance requirements for 4G, and they are certified for deployment in the U.S., Europe and Asia.
By combining MIMO and OFDM technologies with Proxim’s Wireless Outdoor Routing Protocol, both the newly launched products offer PtP and PtMP backhaul for carriers, WISPs and government entities, clarified the company.
Company officials said the new Tsunami product family combines multiple-input and multiple-output and orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing technologies with its wireless outdoor routing protocol to provide point-to-point and point-to-multipoint backhaul for carriers, wireless Internet service providers and government entities.
“With these new products, Proxim is enabling carriers and WISPs to cost-effectively deploy true 4G networks with enough bandwidth to support today’s demanding applications,” said Pankaj Manglik, president and CEO at Proxim Wireless.
“At Proxim we have been delivering wireless solutions the world’s largest carriers for nearly 20 years, and these new product lines expand our commitment to the carrier market moving forward,” added Manglik.
Both the Tsunami QB-8100 PtP and the Tsunami MP-8100 PtMP features 300Mbps and 600Mbps PtP and PtMP systems. Additionally, performance is per link for PtP applications, and per sector for PtMP applications; and range in excess of 70km; and very low latency of the order of one to two milliseconds.
Reportedly, the 300 Mbps data rate Proxim Tsunami QB-8100 point-to-point products and MP-8100 point-to-multipoint products are available immediately. The 600 Mbps data rate Proxim Tsunami series products are expected to be available by the end of Q4, 2009.
Price for the Proxim Tsunami QB-8100 products starts at $6,599 and for Tsunami MP-8100 products the price starts at $1,549.
Proxim Wireless Corporation’s broadband wireless systems enable a variety of wireless applications including point-to-point wireless backhaul, security and surveillance, VoIP, last mile access, and enterprise LAN connectivity.
