VIVOTEK Updates the iViewer App for iOS

One of the most used features on a mobile device is the camera. Whether it is taking a picture or a video, it allows users to communicate using rich media to convey their message for a loved one or a coworker for a particular project. It can also be used to view content from different sources, whether it is on the device or being streamed wirelessly. The iViewer app from VIVOTEK is a tool used to monitor locations remotely by accessing surveillance camera videos on an iOS or Android handheld device. The company has updated the iOS version of the application to provide a better user experience.

The updates will give users a more intuitive and user-friendly experience with a redesigned user interface and new features by enhancing the quality and accessibility of the video.

That iViewer application is able to access live streaming video from hundreds of cameras managed by VAST, the company's professional central management software, the ST7501video management software, and network video recorder (NVR) series. As a security solution this platform can be exploited to keep even the largest of venues secure with minimal personnel.

By allowing anyone with a mobile device access to the surveillance cameras, security services can be performed anywhere and anytime from virtually around the world. The new iViewer supports many features including a favorites list, multi-channel live view and single channel playback, PTZ Control, vertical (portrait) or horizontal (landscape) mode rotation, PiP (Picture in Picture) control, snapshot and fisheye view de-warping.

Additional software optimizations include multi-layout decoding performance and upgraded viewing resolution to support Retina display. It supports iOS 6 or above handheld, mobile and tablet devices such as the iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS; iPad (third generation), iPad 2 and iPod touch (fourth generation).

"In order to maximize the benefits and convenience to our valued customers, VIVOTEK is dedicated to continual development and optimization of our mobile applications. Today, we are pleased to announce the re-launch of our iViewer app for iOS user interface with several exciting new features enabling surveillance on the move to be more reliable and enjoyable," said Steve Ma, executive vice president at VIVOTEK.
