Broadband internet costs drop in Asia

Mar 03, 2010 (INTERNET BUSINESS NEWS via COMTEX) -- According to a report released by the International Telecommunication Union, prices of broadband Internet have dropped in Asia.

More and more people world over are using mobile phones and internet even though recession has affected economic growth thereby reducing the cost of broadband services. According to the report, prices are the lowest in China, Hong Kong and Singapore. However, the broadband internet remains outside the reach of many in the poor countries.

Fixed broadband services are currently available in developed and some developing countries. In 2008, China had overtaken USA as the largest fixed broadband market in the world.

In the developing world, the number of internet users will reportedly increase when high speed internet services are made available.
