As the global leader in pre-integrated solutions for control of billing, user services and wireless network access including WiFi (News - Alert), WiMax and LTE, Aptilo networks will leverage its WiMax CSN System to deploy Fanoos’ New WiMax network in northern Iraq. Along with the complete backend deployment of the network, Aptilo will also provide prepaid billing services for Fanoos Telecom. As the first pre-integrated system, Aptilo's WiMax CSN is a wireless broadband data and voice services solution for mobile WiMax AAA and service control.

Fanoos WiMax network will be deployed in regions such as Sulaimaniyah, Mosul and Kirkuk by taking advantage of the existing AsiaCell tower infrastructure with the rollout to be completed by the year end. The network will cater to the needs of both the residential and enterprise markets that include a total population exceeding 10 million. Multitude of different business models will be enabled by Aptilo’s solution such as payment via premium SMS and vouchers.

Moreover, Aptilo's WiMax CSN System will form the basis for future WiFi hotspot networks that will improve connectivity with other WiFi hotspots within Iraq -- thus opening up new market opportunities for Fanoos. By allowing complete interoperability between various WiMax vendors and products that are part of the Fanoos deployment, Aptilo's solution helps deliver exceptional scalability as well as streamline costs.

In a release, Rauf, CEO, Fanoos Telecom said, “WiMax solution allows us to rollout the network very quickly, and positions us well for future network expansion, including into a secondary business model of offering WiFi hotspots. Aptilo's proven technology is ideal for this large-scale, growing network, which we hope to build into the largest in Iraq.” Aptilo's WiMax CSN System is based on the Aptilo AAA+ (Authentication, Authorization and Accounting) Core with unique multi-access, multi-service support and includes features such as service management, access control policy management and advanced billing capabilities for wireless and fixed networks.

In a release, Jan Sjonell, managing director of Asia/Middle East Aptilo Networks (News - Alert), said, “Fanoos Telecom is paving the way for advanced communications in Iraq. With a quarter million voice subscribers, Fanoos can tap into this established market leadership to deliver advanced 4G mobile broadband to help bring this next level of connectivity to residents and businesses, which will also spark new economic growth.”
