More than 65 attendees and 14 operators participated in the 2012 WiMAX (News - Alert) Buenos Aires Operator Summit event, making it a success across Latin America. The summit encouraged the participants to discuss potential opportunities for WiMAX in Latin America.

In a release, Paul Choiseul, CTO of IBW, said, “WiMAX Buenos Aires was an excellent event. The presentations were highly instructive, not only on the state of the industry, but also on innovative new technologies and best practices that are sure to have a positive impact on most, if not all attendees. Beyond being an unparalleled educational event, the Buenos Aires Operator Summit allowed abundant time for networking and business development and I personally benefited from exposure to innovative new products that will help me reduce my expansion costs and allow me to create new value added services.”

The WiMAX Buenos Aires Operator Summit included presentations from WiMAX operators, equipment and solutions vendors, and from the working staff at the WiMAX Forum (News - Alert).

Member member who contributed their speakers to the program include: Sequans, Airspan, Alepo, Alvarion, Huawei, Intel, ITRI, Aptilo, GreenPacket, NEC (News - Alert), NSN, and Skyonline.

Declan Byrne, Acting President of the WiMAX Forum, said, "WiMAX Buenos Aires was a fantastic event. The program covered a range of topics important to Latin American operators, and our speakers did a terrific job providing strong educational presentations. We are already looking forward to our next event in late March in Pakistan.”

The WiMAX Forum Operator Summit Series was introduced in 2011 with the express purpose of converging special, localized events from across the different regions of the world in an effort to educate and support networking for WiMAX operators.
