TeleNav (

“Connected navigation means your device won’t have a limited shelf life,” said HP Jin (

Alert), president, CEO and co-founder of TeleNav. “Using a PND without a connection is like using a laptop without an Internet connection. It limits you to information that resides on the device. Business travelers need to stay connected in order to stay productive and up-to-date.”
TeleNav Shotgun employs TeleNav Connected Services to monitor traffic conditions on routes which looks for congestion and other traffic jamming incidents. Traffic delay alerts will be made by audible and on-screen announcements. Users can access specific information and find traffic speed and flow on major highways in their route. Shotgun also displays an updated time of arrival (ETA) depending on traffic conditions, speed of travel and distance.
TeleNav Connected Service updates maps and local search data constantly. TeleNav Shotgun has 11 million points of interest (POIs) in the PND. These include categories like restaurants, hotels, airports, Wi-Fi hotspots besides several others. Phone numbers are also provided making it easy to contact the location.
Trips can be preplanned on
www.telenav.com. Customers can save addresses in My Favorites folder. This will get downloaded on the PND when they turn it ‘ON’. The new My TeleNav Internet browser plug-in for Internet Explorer, Firefox and Google (

TeleNav Shotgun users can use upgrades without buying new devices with TeleNav Connected Service. Updates will be provided through the wireless network and users need not connect cables and download software on a PC.
Feature updates in development stage include Restaurant Reviews to read others’ opinions; Address Sharing, to keep friends informed of user’s location; weather updates and Commute Alerts to give traffic conditions on daily commute route.
TeleNav Shotgun is slim, portable and measures 4.9L x 3.1W x 0.75H inches. It features a high quality 4.3 inch TFT LCD touch screen, car and home charger besides having a mounting arm and cradle. Its software features include onscreen and voice guidance with spoken street names, full-color 3D moving laps, 11 million POIs and maps of the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.
TeleNav specializes in location-based services (LBS). The company’s solutions include GPS navigation, Mobile Resource Management (MRM), asset GPS tracking (AVL), social networking and local search. TeleNav GPS Navigator offers functionality like automatically-updated maps and business locations, one-click rerouting, location-sharing, and business reviews besides others. TeleNav’s enterprise application, TeleNav Track, offers GPS-enabled tracking, time sheets, wireless forms and navigation.
