Tranzeo Wireless Technologies Inc., a manufacturer of wireless network equipments, has reportedly signed an order for WiMAX (News - Alert) OEM-branded customer premise equipment (CPEs) for a value of US$3.4 million.

In a release, officials at Tranzeo said the shipments will start from Q1 of 2010.

Tranzeo (News - Alert), a manufacturer of wireless broadband and WiMAX communications systems, claims its products allow communities and businesses to communicate without boundaries.

WiMAX requires a base station and subscriber units, or customer premise equipment (CPE). The base station manages all subscriber units and determines when the subscriber units can transmit or receive based on a Time Division Duplex (TDD) algorithm that assigns guaranteed time slots for each subscriber unit.

Tranzeo’s full spectrum of point-to-point and point-to-multipoint radios WiMAX equipment and mesh network solutions are designed for wireless internet service providers, governments, campuses, military, carriers, enterprise customers, and systems integrators around the globe.

The company also said that its optimum cost effectiveness, premium quality and responsive support have attracted more than 2,465 dealers and 16 distributors globally.

The Tranzeo-made radios operate over the 2.3 to 2.7GHz, 3.3 to 3.8GHz and 5.15 to 5.875GHz frequencies.

"We are experiencing extremely strong traction for our WiMAX product line for 2010, which has resulted in Tranzeo's current backlog position of all purchases orders for 2009 and 2010 to grow to US$16.2M," said Jim Tocher, chief executive officer at Tranzeo Wireless Technologies (News - Alert), in the release.

Headquartered in British Columbia, Canada, Tranzeo also has offices in San Diego, California and Shannon, Ireland. Recently the company also received the first volume production order targeted for Indonesian operators worth US$5.4 million.

Earlier in March, the company had inked an agreement with Sales Force Europe (SFE) to expand sales of its WiMAX and mesh network solutions across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
