OneFi Technology, Inc., a WiMAX (News - Alert) technology provider that develops broadband networks with 4G compatibility, announced that it is planning to start the initial installation of WiMAX/BPL Technology in the Hogback Region of the Navajo Nation in January.

The company said it believes that once the network is completed, it will be valued at $20 million.

“We are delivering the network to meet the broadband internet needs of the Navajo community and the installation will be a model for the other Native American communities,” Tom White, chief financial officer at OneFi, who is reportedly managing the project.

The OneFi broadband solution broadcasts signal for up to 10 miles in WiMAX and a 1 mile in WiFi. The newest solution, as stated is capable of providing an eight square mile broadband network solution which can deliver IPTV (News - Alert), VoIP (including mobile) and Internet highspeed broadband to every home and business within the networks grid. Moreover, its WiFi/GSM combo phone allows both traditional GSM cell use and also the ability to make VoIP calls.

OneFi is currently working on projects in South America, the Caribbean, the Middle East and Africa.

In June, the company projected revenues to exceed $20,000,000 for the third quarter ending September 30, 2009.

Chet Noblett, chairman and president of OneFi Technology said the estimate included projects such as the Navajo Nation contract, contracts being negotiated with other Indian Reservations, the OneFi share of the Federal Government’s Stimulus package for broadband connectivity in rural communities and the potential business in the Gulf Cooperation Council Nations.
