Sequans Communications Announces Accton Wireless Broadband's Adoption of Sequans' Chips for its New Mobile WiMAX Devices

Sequans Communications, the WiMAX (News - Alert) chipmaker, has announced that Accton Wireless Broadband (AWB) has adopted Sequans' chips for a number of new WiMAX products. AWB is a developer of WiMAX devices for fixed as well as mobile solutions. The newly launched devices which include a highly advanced USB dongle, and two integrated access devices, will be on display at Computex Taipei, from June 1-5, at the Sequans’ booth number A418a.

The AWB USB dongle is up to date in WiMAX and it features Sequans’ advanced 2Tx uplink technology through which mobile operators and their customers are delivered great benefits. The technology delivers remarkable improvement in link budget for almost double the cell coverage along with really improved network performance, to the mobile operators. At the same time the final customers are delivered with greatly improved indoor coverage and enhanced throughput.

In a release, Ray Lee (News - Alert), president of AWB, said “Sequans’ advanced chip technology, including their powerful dual transmit uplink technology, contributes significantly to the high performance-over-cost value proposition of our WiMAX devices”. He further added that “Sequans is one of the key strategic partners of AWB and our collaboration enriches the product line that addresses demand for Sequans support among our operator customers.”

The Sequans’ new generation SQN1200 series chips are the industry’s most highly integrated and advanced Mobile WiMAX solutions. Georges Karam (News - Alert) the CEO of Sequans said “AWB has developed and delivered excellent WiMAX devices. WiMAX is the perfect solution for many markets and the new devices offer users powerful and straightforward solutions for wireless broadband access.”

Accton Wireless Broadband Corp (News - Alert). (AWB) was established in 2006 and was a part of the Accton Group. Accton Wireless has partnered with prominent telecommunication vendors and operators, developing the best-of-breed WiMAX CPE, through which next generation broadband-centric can be enabled anytime and anywhere.

Sequans Communications is a 4G chipmaker, which supplies LTE (News - Alert) and WiMAX chips to equipment manufacturers and mobile operators around the world.
