Billion releases 3G router with built in SIM slot and automatic failover
(Telecomworldwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Networking specialist Billion Electric Co (Taiex: 3027) yesterday announced the addition of the Billion BiPac 7800GZ to its line of 3G routers.
The company said that the new product is a Triple WAN 3G/ADSL2+/Broadband Wi-Fi router that features a built in SIM slot, obviating the need for an external 3G USB modem. One of the 4 Ethernet ports can be configured as a second fixed WAN port for cable/fibre/2nd ADSL2/2+ connectivity, allowing autofailover to be configured to operate between any 2 of the 3 WAN interfaces available. Autofailover is seamless between WANs with email alert for instant notification.
The router is fitted with a Broadcom ADSL chip, with mobile broadband performance increased by the availability of two external detachable antennas which can be positioned to gain the best signal even in low signal strength locations.
Pricing details for the router were not discussed.
