RedMere technology used to make ultra slim HDMI cable with embedded booster for Japanese market

Sep 03, 2010 (WORLDWIDE COMPUTER PRODUCTS NEWS via COMTEX) -- <p>Active-cable solutions provider RedMere said on Thursday that its technology has been used by Japan-based BUFFALO KOKUYO SUPPLY INC to produced a HDMI cable product that is unique to the Japanese market.</p><p>The new High Speed Slim 1.4 HDMI cable is designed for use in home theatre, PCs, PC peripherals, satellite box and gaming high definition and 3D TV applications.</p><p>According to RedMere, this new cable, with a diameter as slim as 3.5mm, is far thinner and lighter than standard HDMI cables because of the built-in booster and it can support data rates of up to 10.2Gb/s while maintaining the latest in 1.4 HDMI compliance. It also maintains full HD 3D, 1080p and 4K2K standards and comes with a built-in high speed Ethernet and audio return channel (HEAC).</p><p>The High Speed Slim HDMI cable is available now from BUFFALO KOKUYO SUPPLY INC in lengths of two, three and five metres.
