Sunrise Telecom (News - Alert), a provider of test, monitoring and workflow management solutions for cable, telecom, wireless operators, and equipment manufacturers, announced the company will be showcasing its award-winning Carrier Ethernet test platforms at the Ethernet Expo 2011, on Tuesday, Nov. 8.

The company is also showcasing IntelliSAM, the ITU-T Y.1564 Carrier Ethernet Service Activation Solution. IntelliSAM is the only application able to verify the full bandwidth profile configuration according to the Y.1564 test standard. It represents the most desirable set of tests for Carrier Ethernet services in the industry, according to company officials.

The solution enables service providers to meet more stringent service level agreements for their customers. At the Expo, Sunrise Telecom will demonstrate the IntelliSAM Service Activation feature on its 10GE-powered, award winning RxT Smart Productivity Test Platform.

Paul Marshall, Sunrise Telecom's chief technology officer, will participate in a panel at the Expo that analyzes the cost-saving and revenue-increasing benefits that operators can realize through the deployment of Operation, Administration and Maintenance (OAM) solutions over Ethernet-based networks.

The panel will give an overview of key OAM standards like IEE 802.1ag, ITU Y.1731, Y.1564, and MEF (News - Alert) 17. It will share lessons learned from real-world deployment of OAM solutions and identify practical ways that the industry can speed deployment of OAM to help bring down operating costs and drive value-added revenues.

Marshall also serves on the company's board of directors. He represents the company at the ITU and MEF. At the ITU he participated actively in the development of Recommendation Y.1564, Ethernet Service Activation Test Methodology.

In September, Sunrise Telecom announced the addition of several new features to its CM3 Series of plant maintenance analyzers. The CM3 Series enables plant maintenance personnel to perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot the distribution network from the head-end to the home.
