Can You Hear Me Now? Trilithic Helps You Find Out Without Having to Repeat Yourself

 By Michelle Amodio, TMCnet Contributor

HFC installation can be challenging as much of the industry is still retro-fitting a coaxial infrastructure.  Have you ever been in a situation where you needed to determine signal strength but your communication test equipment was too bulky, too heavy, too far away, or back in the truck, maybe?

Now you don’t have to beat yourself up for forgetting it, worry about it falling, or even use two hands to operate it.  The new TR-3 Signal Level Meter is the latest in communication test equipment and is guaranteed to measure signal levels and tilt quickly and efficiently.

Aside from having an extended battery life, the TR-3 Signal Level Meter is a great example of cutting edge communication test equipment since it allows you to program six different channels ranging anywhere from 46 MHz to 1 GHz and you can read both analog and digital signals.

Furthermore, the display works so that you can compare signal strength of several of your most utilized frequencies or just focus on one particular frequency.

As far as communication test equipment goes, the TR-3 is lightweight (only 1 pound!) and you’ll never forget it since it has a carrying strap. You’re probably more likely to be carrying it most of the time on your job since you can fully operate it with just one hand.

The automatic tilt feature shows the difference in signal strength from the lowest favorite frequency to the highest favorite frequency For those of you who like to “set-it-and-forget-it”, the TR-3 has software where you can preload the favorite frequencies instead of manually entering them into the handheld unit.  With a plastic case, a rubber bumper, and a spare F-type connector, it is definitely the best in recent communication test equipment.
