TigerLogic Releases Omnis Studio 5.2 with New JavaScript Client for Leading-Edge Mobile Application Development

IRVINE, Calif., March 1, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- TigerLogic Corporation (Nasdaq: TIGR) today launched Omnis Studio version 5.2 featuring a new JavaScript based Client technology that allows Omnis applications to run in a browser on virtually any device, on any platform. The Omnis JavaScript Client uses scripting compatible with HTML5 and CSS3 to enable support for all popular browsers and devices, including tablets, smartphones, desktops, and web-enabled TVs.

Omnis Studio 5.2 is a high-performance visual Rapid Application Development (RAD) tool designed to help developers extend their applications across the web, mobile and enterprise space while providing an interactive, feature-rich experience. Applications are developed once and deployed to any device, on any platform, including Android, iOS, Mac OS, Linux and Windows, with no plug-in installation required.

"Today developers are looking for ways to easily extend their business and consumer applications to the latest generation of mobile and web-based devices," said John Bramley, Vice President of Product Development. "With the evolution of Omnis Studio 5.2, it's now even easier to develop leading-edge solutions in less time and with fewer resources." Omnis Studio 5.2 includes support for the SQLite database, a popular database with a light footprint that can be embedded into a full range of applications. In addition, the new Welcome application provides access to a set of sample applications and a built-in tutorial to assist first-time Omnis Studio users. These sample applications show the strengths and extensibility of the JavaScript Client and can be used standalone or incorporated into other Omnis application libraries.
