Nexaira Podcast Offers Keen Insight into High Availability Wireless Routing

With the growth of 3G and 4G, the services and devices available to consumers continues to grow exponentially. This growth is extending the requirements for reliable access solutions to meet the requirements of users. To meet this demand, Nexaira offers high availability wireless routing.

In a recent TMC podcast, Carl Silva, chief scientist and vice president of Technology at Nexaira shared the advantages of high availability wireless routing and its ability to provide failover for traditional connections to 3G or 4G. In delivering such capability, companies can increase the uptime of the overall wireline connection.

Silva highlighted that most providers do not allow for weekend or holiday support - the prime time problems generally occur. Nexaira addresses this gap by offering a variety of failover solutions that range from detecting a problem on the wireline to routing data from a failed connection to a high availability routing connection.

While such a solution certainly delivers measurable benefits to the end user, it is also important to examine the return on investment. According to Silva, a strong ROI can take several forms. For the customer who relies on credit cards to run sales, the ability to monitor the connection and ensure a continuous link is essential to drive revenue.

Integration into existing infrastructure is a key focus for Nexaira as its solutions are directly connected to the WAN to automatically detect an outage to immediately re-route data to a 3G or 4G connection. A built-in algorithm detects when the problem is fixed and moves traffic back to the primary portal.

For those companies focused on continuous service delivery for the customer, the customer experience is directly impacted by the high availability wireless routing. The experience can be virtually seamless for the customer as an interruption in service is as little as three seconds for a video and less than a second for other data.

As for the impact WiMAX, LTE and 4G will have in the marketplace, Silva highlighted that bandwidth increases will have a tremendous impact in the market, allowing users to do things they currently cannot and will expand features beyond imaginations.
