Delphi to Lead Dialogue, Showcase Technology Demonstrations at ITS 2014
GILLINGHAM, England --(Business Wire)--
Delphi (News - Alert) Automotive PLC (NYSE: DLPH) will share connected vehicle and
autonomous driving insights and innovations at this year's World
Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), being help Sept. 7-11
in Detroit.

like our Driver State Sensor and Workload Manager, which promise to have
a profound impact on driver safety," said Jeff Owens, Delphi's chief
technology officer. "The ITS World Congress is an excellent platform for

At the show, Delphi experts will lead discussions during several panel
sessions. Delphi will also demonstrate and display advanced safety
technologies at Cobo Hall (booth #2401) and Belle Isle (Zone 2) during
the Congress.

Additionally, Delphi will showcase advanced connected vehicle and
autonomous driving technologies:

Driver State Sensor and Workload Manager (Belle Isle, Zone 2) - A
Dodge Charger equipped with a driver state sensor - featuring active
workload manager system linked with forward looking radar, adaptive
safety warnings, and exogenous display - will be available for test
rides. The car also features Delphi's MyFi® infotainment system, which
connects users to their personal information and entertainment while
mitigating driver distraction and maximizing safety.

Tesla S (Delphi booth #2401) - Delphi has equipped a Tesla
Model S with technologies that demonstrate the road to automated
driving. Some of these fundamental building blocks for future
automated vehicles are already on the road - and part of Delphi's
award-winning portfolio. An Augmented Reality demonstration will be
available to provide attendees a real-world experience with the
driver-assistance systems integrated in the vehicle.

Delphi Connect (Delphi booth #2401) - The device, which has
gained national attention for its connectivity capabilities, allows
consumers to stay connected while driving. With 4G LTE (News - Alert) WiFi hotspot,
virtual remote access, geo-fencing and vehicle tracking, drivers will
have peace of mind knowing they can be in constant communication with
their vehicle. Congress attendees will have the opportunity to utilize
the technology to better understand its differentiating features.

Shuttle Bus Connectivity (Route between Cobo Center and Belle Isle)
- Delphi has partnered with University of Michigan's
Transportation Research Institute, ARADA Systems and Mobile Data
Holdings to develop a V2X demonstration on two shuttle busses. The
demonstration will offer riders insights on their surroundings through
vehicle connectivity, including communicating specifics about area
buildings and businesses, pedestrian detection, and information
regarding available parking and other convenient details. Wireless
charging for mobile devices will also be available on the buses.
