With the deadline for Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) compliance looming, communication test equipment leader Trilithic is now offering three simple solutions for companies that want to upgrade their EASy Series systems while providing full CAP support.

EASyCAP Software

The first option is Trilithic's EASyCAP IPAWS CAP software suite, which is the simplest solution on the market today. Designed for users who already have a server available, the software connects to the EASy Series Encoder/Decoders via Ethernet, and runs on a PC or server with any number of Windows products.

The stand-alone software solution enables the delivery of the entire CAP alert to Trilithic's family of EASy series systems. The product fully supports both CAP text and MP3 audio alerts, helping companies secure full CAP compliance before the June 30, 2012 deadline.

EASyCAP Software/Server Package

Another viable option is Trilithic's EASyCAP Integrated Server Package, which is made up of a small 1U Linux-based server that comes fully loaded with EASyCAP Software. The package is designed for users who don't have a server available.

Similar to the stand-alone software, the EASyCAP Integrated Server Package can receive CAP alerts from multiple sources – including TCP, DM-OPEN (News - Alert) v1 or IPAWS interfaces – and can support several EASy Series Encoder/Decoders via Ethernet. Users can manage and configure the system and software through an intuitive, easy-to-use Web server.

"The software and integrated server give engineers a simple and affordable way to provide full CAP support on all their existing EASy Series encoder/decoders and upgrade their EAS alert capabilities at the same time," says Trilithic.

EASyCAP Encoder/Decoder

The most comprehensive tool in Trilithic's stable of solutions is the integrated EASyCAP Encoder/Decoder premium emergency management system. This next-generation piece of hardware is capable of providing everything a user needs to receive emergency messages as well as deliver CAP-based audio and video alerts through cable TV, LPTV and video systems, including local access messages and audio/video peripherals.

Best of all, the hardware solution is highly scalable and flexible, giving users the tools needed to respond to current and future CAD requirements.

The EASyCAP Encoder/Decoder contains six input channels for monitoring EAS messages – each of which are decoded simultaneously – and multiple user interfaces for encoding EAS messages. These include a front panel touch-screen LCD, a telephone interface, general purpose inputs and secure a Web Server.
