If you are going to be doing any kind of network support, you need communication test equipment.
What will you do if you do not want to purchase new cable because you just bought the one you have now last week, yet there seems to be something amiss? Where is the fault in the cable? Such questions arise when not equipped with the proper communication test equipment, but choosing the right tool doesn’t have to require as much thought.
Trilithic has announced the latest offering in its line of communication test equipment, the Wild-Cat Ethernet cable tester for installers and technicians.
Certification test tools determine whether a link is compliant with a category (TIA (News - Alert)) or class (ISO). Certification is the final step required by many structured cabling manufacturers to grant their warranties for a new cabling installation. With the Wild-Cat, technicians can measure the speed and performance of CAT6, CAT5e and CAT3 Ethernet cable while adhering to both ANSI and ISO.IEC (News - Alert) standards.
Detailed reporting capabilities are available via the Ethernet Cable Tester software. The software graphs test results for the cable being measured. Information about the operator conducting the test and Pass/ Fail status of the cable is provided in the report along with specific cable information.
The Wild-Cat can measure all the industry standard parameters necessary to ensure network cables support 1000Base-T. The test results for each cable can be printed in an easy to read report.
As networks evolve, so do the requirements of the cabling infrastructure to support them. New standards are continuously being developed to provide guidelines for cabling professionals when installing, testing, troubleshooting, and certifying both copper and fiber.
Testing communication equipment provides a level of assurance that the installed cabling links provide the desired transmission capability to support the data communication desired by the users.
