HiBeam Announces First "Substantial Service" Installation at Southern Union State Community CollegeOPELIKA, Ala. --(Business Wire)-- HiBeam Internet & Voice (www.MyHiBeam.com) announced today that it has completed its first installation of the company's substantial service product at Southern Union State Community College (www.suscc.edu). Under current FCC (News - Alert) rules, owners of spectrum in the 2.5 GHz band have until May of 2011 to demonstrate that they are using their spectrum for the educational mission of their institution. HiBeam Internet & Voice has developed a product using the latest WiMAX (News - Alert) electronics to help schools and institutions quickly and cost effectively meet the FCC requirements.
