Arrow ECS Extends North American Cloud Security, Data Center Portfolio with Trend MicroFeb 28, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Aligned with its commitment to provide a portfolio of enterprise solutions for the data center, Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions, a business segment of Arrow Electronics Inc., has signed a North American distribution agreement with Trend Micro. "We believe the addition of Trend Micro will be a competitive differentiator for Arrow ECS and for our solution providers. Trend Micro was recently recognized as a worldwide leader in server and virtualization security and its virtualization and centrally managed security solutions are in high demand among IT managers," said Joe Burke, vice president of Arrow ECS' North American enterprise storage, security, service, virtualization and networking practices. "IT managers are increasingly challenged with maintaining consistent security across complex virtualized environments. The Trend Micro security suite further enables our solution providers to support their customers' needs with proven, leading-edge enterprise-class solutions for building secure virtualized and cloud computing platforms." According to a release, through the agreement, Arrow ECS will connect its data-center-focused solution providers with Trend Micro technology to serve enterprise and midmarket customers. The content-security and threat-management solutions are designed as high-performance solutions that securely protect the exchange of digital information in physical, virtualized and cloud environments. "Arrow ECS was selected as a Trend Micro North American value-added distributor based on its laser-like focus on enterprise solutions, extensive support for solution providers and comprehensive portfolio of complementary data-center solutions," said Gil Morales, director, channel sales, for Trend Micro. "Arrow ECS' established midmarket hardware focus and VMware business was of particular interest given Trend Micro Deep Security solutions are fully virtual-aware and tightly integrated with VMware products."
