Nokia partners with Harman International Industries


Aug 31, 2012 (Datamonitor Financial Deals Tracker via COMTEX) -- Nokia Oyj has formed a partnership with Harman International Industries, Inc. to develop wireless consumer audio technologies for the Nokia Lumia range.

Nokia is a Finland-based provider of mobile devices, telecom equipments, and mobile content services. Harman is a US-based holding company engaged in the development, manufacture and marketing of audio products and electronic systems.

Nokia and Harman's JBL brand will jointly develop and co-brand the line of products which will include a range of speakers delivering room-filling acoustics design. Wireless connectivity from mobile device to speaker will be facilitated through bluetooth technology capable of connecting any existing Lumia phone, or by tapping to connect with NFC for Lumia phone based on Windows Phone 8.
