Sonic Foundry Mourns the Passing of Board Member Michael Janowiak


MADISON, Wis. --(Business Wire)--

Sonic Foundry (News - Alert), Inc. (NASDAQ: SOFO), the trusted leader for video creation and management solutions, is saddened to announce that Michael Janowiak, a member of the company's Board of Directors since 2011, passed away August 16. Mr. Janowiak was 50 years old.

"Michael Janowiak gave us incredible guidance as a member of our Board of Directors for the past three years," said Mark Burish, Sonic Foundry's Chairman of the Board. "He had a wealth of experience in print and online media and was always pushing and challenging us to think outside the box. We would like to express our condolences and sympathy to Michael's family and friends during this difficult time."

Mr. Janowiak, of Indin Head Park, Ill., also served on Sonic Foundry's Audit and Compensation Committees. He was a Principal at Pinnacle Investments, a boutique private equity and financial consulting group, and had more than 20 years of experience in the information industry, with a focus on education, training, research publications and trade conferences for professionals in the communications and semiconductor sectors. Among his many leadership roles, Mr. Janowiak was the co-founder and president of HRDRive, Inc., which is the North American subsidiary of SMR technologies, a publicly-traded, human resources software company based in Kuala Lampur, Malaysia and Chennai, India.
