FLSmidth Selects Fuze to Transform Business Communications for 11,000 Global Employees

Fuze (formerly ThinkingPhones), the leader in global voice, video, messaging, and collaboration, today announces a new contract with FLSmidth A/S, one of the largest engineering companies in the world, to deliver a new business communication solution to 11,000 employees, across a single, cloud platform.

The new Fuze solution replaces Skype for Business and brings together FLSmidth's disparate communication systems, including 27 separate PBXs, into one global, Unified Communications (News - Alert) as a Service (UCaaS) platform, integrating all voice, video, messaging, and collaboration.

The deployment will result in significant cost savings for FLSmidth, particularly on telephony bills as international calls will be charged at local rates, following the launch of Fuze's global unmetered calling, which gives customers free calls between Fuze endpoints and unmetered calling to over 100 countries.

Upgrades and maintenance of legacy PBX (News - Alert) systems have also been eliminated and the Fuze deployment will faciltate the removal of 90 percent of desk-based phones.

The improved communications infrastructure will create a consistent user experience for FLSmidth employees, including 5,000 mobile workers and field service technicians, who can access and use Fuze from anywhere, using a desktop or mobile device. The Fuze platform will also support collaboration of global business functions such as finance and HR that operate distributed teams, with contact centre capabilities enhancing the customer support operation.

Geir-Tore Botten, Global Infrastructure Manager, FLSmidth, says: "FLSmidth is a huge organisation that has doubled in size over the last 10 years, resulting in a complex and costly communications environment, with end-of-life equipment and disparate systems. With Fuze we have found a solution that will simplify our global infrastructure, bringing all our communications requirements into a single platform, allowing us to eliminate legacy technology, better support our customers and, critically, drive significant cost out of the business."

This new customer win follows Fuze's exceptional first half of 2016, which saw the Company achieve record growth and momentum, with more than 150 percent growth in net-new customer sales, with nearly 50 percent of new business now coming from Europe and Asia Pacific.

In 2016, Fuze has added 200 new customers, with the top ten deals representing a combined $40 million in contract value and 48,000 additional users globally.

"Fuze is disrupting the UCaaS market with a communications platform that offers a truly user-centric experience for the modern workforce and brings compelling business benefits for customers across the world," said Luca Lazzaron, SVP International Operations, Fuze. "Our partnership with FLSmidth is indicative of our ability to deliver enterprise-grade solutions and serve the needs of companies with 10,000+ users, cementing our position as a leader in the UCaaS market."
