AclaraConnect Conference Explores Game-Changing Strategies for Utilities

ST. LOUIS, Feb. 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- More than 1,000 executives and key personnel representing gas, electric and water utilities around the world are expected to attend AclaraConnect, Aclara's 9th annual client conference. With its theme of Be A Game-Changer, this year's AclaraConnect will explore how leading-edge technologies can help utilities plan ahead and thrive in a landscape of disruptive change.

One of the utility industry's largest and most anticipated user conferences, AclaraConnect takes place April 10-14 at the New Orleans Marriott, one of the premier hotels in the Big Easy's famed French Quarter.

"This year's conference is more important and timely than ever. Utilities are facing myriad complexities that are impacting their industry as never before, from aging infrastructure to cybersecurity and the integration of renewables. As more demands are placed on our already taxed infrastructure, we must change and develop smarter systems," said Allan Connolly, President and CEO of Aclara.

"Aclara understands this, and over the past couple of years, we have built an entirely new technology company. We now offer end-to-end solutions that provide the data and analytics that distribution operators need to manage their networks. Our conference examines the game-changing opportunities that cutting-edge technologies bring to utilities, enabling them to flourish today and into the future," he added.

AclaraConnect opens with an inspiring keynote address by American sports icon Peyton Manning. The legendary two-time Super Bowl champion quarterback, a 14-time Pro Bowler and the only five-time MVP in National Football League (NFL) history, Manning is widely recognized as being a true game-changer in the way football is played.

"We asked Peyton Manning to deliver our keynote address because he was, and continues to be, an agent of change," Connolly noted. "His story and career achievements align perfectly with Aclara's vision to be the premier global Smart Infrastructure Solutions (SIS) provider in a transformative and ever challenging industry, and his unique perspective on how to become a game-changer will certainly resonate with everyone in the audience."

Other speakers include representatives from Aclara, leading utilities, the Smart Grid Consumer Collaborative, J.D. Power, the Department of Homeland Security, and an executive panel comprising leaders in the water, gas and electric industries.

Attendees, who include executives as well as mid-level managers from finance through operations, can take advantage of a comprehensive program that features more than 100 education and training sessions. Other highlights include a state-of-the-art Demo Center and Exhibit Hall that provide opportunities to learn about Aclara's comprehensive array of products and services.

For the third year, AclaraConnect also includes an invitation-only Executive Summit. A one-day executive strategic forum, the Summit brings together electric, gas and water utility executives with policymakers, regulators and other thought leaders to focus on the latest developments in innovation, business development and more.

"We invite delegates from around the world to join us in an unforgettable week of learning, inspiration, and camaraderie, where they can connect, grow, and meet top industry thought leaders and hundreds of colleagues coming together to focus on the tools needed to change the game through innovation, technology, community, collaboration and learning," Connolly noted.
