Tweakker: Tweakker Extends Its Mobile Configuration Service with Pre-Christmas Best Sellers

Copenhagen,, Oct 18, 2010 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) -- Mobile Internet connectivity leader Tweakker A/S (www.tweakker.com) today announces that it added 31 new mobile device models to its Over-the-Air Application Programming Interface (API) configuration service so far this month. The additions include several models that device manufacturers believe will become best sellers in the run up period to Christmas such as Alcatel's new OT-980 budget Android.

Overall, Tweakker's OTA configuration service now supports 2,380 mobile models and 129 brands. Importantly, the service will be further extended in the coming weeks to include the first Symbian 4 models thanks to the company's close business relationships with device manufacturers and access to pre-launch models.

New models added to the API in October include LG's Optimus One P500 and Optimus Chic E720, Nokia's C1, C2 and C7, Samsung's B7350 Omnia PRO 4 and Xcover 271, Sony Ericsson's Cedar and Motorola's Quench XT3, XT502 and MB710.

Manual configuration support for popular devices has also been extended to include HTC's Desire, Legend and Wildfire models, Motorola's Milestone and Apple's iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS.

Tweakker's API is fast becoming the OTA GPRS setting configuration service-of-choice for MVNOs, Internet content providers and service providers. All they need do to benefit from Tweakker's low-cost disruptive service is buy access to Tweakker's API, develop a web service interface and bolt it on to their websites for seamless customer care. As a result, Tweakker's customers provide anytime-anywhere customer care at approximately 5% of the cost of call centres.

In September, the company announced that over 500,000 mobile users had turned to Tweakker for customer care since launching the service in May. It is estimated that MVNO customers saved themselves an estimated $4.75 million in the process. One month on, the user base has grown to over 600,000 people and cost savings to over $5.70 million.

"Tweakker's Over-the-Air connectivity service is proving vital to MVNOs and service operators without the resource and finance to offer real-world customer care," says Tweakker's business director, Dennis Juul Poulsen. He adds: "By adding our API to their website and giving users seamless access to Tweakker's service, they'll save themselves millions of dollars and be able to invest those savings in further improvements to their networks." In anticipation of calls for configuration support for Symbian 4 models and other devices over the Christmas/New Year period, Tweakker will remain open and available to customers' mobile users during the holiday period.

About Tweakker Tweakker is a business partner for MVNOs, service providers and content providers and provides them with an API to offer their mobile customers access to the largest database of phone guides and videos available on today's market. By enabling mobile users to quickly download their favourite settings and bookmarks to enjoy the full functionality of their new or replacement phones, pick up of new Internet services increases by 50% and customer care costs are reduced significantly.
