record participation celebrating ten years of "Give Christmas" in Slovakia

Dec 22, 2011 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) -- The "Give Christmas" program organized by Nadacia Orange in Slovakia, witnessed record participation for its tenth anniversary with a total of 569 projects aimed at helping the underprivileged during the Christmas period.

The projects were examined by a jury of professionals which then selected 177 of them according to two simple criteria: the love and readiness needed to improve Christmas for the most underprivileged.

In fact, "Give Christmas" is a program aimed at helping the underprivileged over the festive season. They may be families who can get together over a festive meal with presents given under the Christmas tree for the children, an improvement in the daily lives of disabled people or subsidies given to deserving students.

Underprivileged seniors are not forgotten either: for instance, a Christmas party in the town of Nitra will be organized for them.

In order to carry out these projects, Nadacia Orange will assign EUR 40,000 of its own money.

Give Christmas celebrates 10 years The 'Give Christmas' program has helped thousands of people in need to have a better Christmas over the past ten years. 1,200 projects have been supported by Nadacia Orange, for a total of EUR 440,000. What's more, over seven years, more than EUR 27,000 has been collected via donations made by mobile phone that has enabled 84 additional projects to be financed.
