Mootwin Mobile Application Development Platform Drives BNP Paribas Group's New iPad Economic News App

PARIS --(Business Wire)--

Mootwin, provider of the only proactive, context-aware platform for the development of mobile applications, today announced that BNP Paribas Group has extended its use of Mootwin technology to its newly released economic news app, EcoNews.

The app relies on Mootwin's real-time push capabilities to bring extensive text and video information from BNP Paribas' economics research database to iPads, in easily navigable form. An Android (News - Alert) version is slated for release in August. Also included are notifications and configurable alerts, French and English versions of articles, the ability to share information via email and social media, and access to information even when the user is not connected to the Internet.

EcoNews was developed as part of a broader effort to increase the audience for economic research produced by BNP Paribas, one of the world's largest banks, noted Michel Bernardini, BNP Paribas IT and communication manager.

"We are adapting to our readers' needs and habits, with multiple Web TV channels and a new website. The development of iPad and Android apps is a logical next step," said Bernardini. "EcoNews looks good, is easy to use and very functional, completely in line with today's trends. With Mootwin's solution, we were able o move from project start to completion very quickly in a couple of months. Mootwin's Mobile Application Platform makes application development - including design, navigation and programming - a highly convenient and cost-effective process."

Mootwin technology supports native, Web, and hybrid apps across all channels, with continuous availability of user-context based, real-time information. Mootwin's robust back-end integration and distributed development architecture offer flexible integration at the server level, with a thin device-level layer. These capabilities, as well as built-in financial-service transaction modules, have already been used by BNP Paribas Group to develop secure online-banking and stock-trading apps.

"The quality and quantity of BNP Paribas' economic studies is tremendous, and the information available is extremely diverse - articles, videos, statistics, forecasts, and much more," said Claude Lemardeley, CEO of Mootwin. "We're delighted that our Mobile Application Platform's information-handling and development capabilities have allowed BNP Paribas to provide user-friendly access via mobile devices in such an efficient manner."

The free EcoNews app is available now via Apple's (News - Alert) iTunes App Store.
