Prakash Nagpal, director of solutions marketing at high-speed broadband solutions provider Actelis, will be on hand at the COMPTEL (News - Alert) PLUS Spring 2012 Convention & Expo to lead a session detailing the interdependence between cloud services and the underlying network, and how this relationship affects service providers.
Kicking off at 1:45 p.m. PST at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in San Francisco, Nagpal's session, titled "Will the Cloud Shroud Networks or Will Networks Deliver Their Value?" will focus on the critical role that the underlying network will play in the future of cloud-based services. Nagpal will also discuss how cloud-based applications can help drive the evolution of the underlying network.
In addition, Nagpal will detail the business models and actions that service providers can employ to create unique value from the cloud economy, and how Actelis' (News - Alert) broadband solutions can be leveraged to enable growth.
Attendees who can't make the session or who want more information on the company's portfolio of broadband solutions can head to booth 813, where Actelis will be showcasing its latest Ethernet Access Device (EAD), the ML700, as well as other bandwidth-enabling products.
As the most cost-effective broadband Ethernet solution for high-bandwidth DSLAM and next-generation mobile backhaul (HSPA+ and LTE (News - Alert)) applications, the ML700 can deliver up to 500Mbps of bandwidth over existing network infrastructures. The ML700 can also can also be leveraged to enabled business-class, managed and cloud-based services – giving telecoms a unique advantage when serving enterprises and SMBs that rely on bandwidth-hungry services like video conferencing and file sharing.
As the Broadband Acceleration Company, Actelis continues to expand its footprint by partnering with both incumbent carriers and those new to the market. Earlier this month, Actelis inked partnership deals with the Moapa Valley Telephone Company and the Midvale Telephone Exchange to help them boost broadband rates across their footprint and increase DSL penetration rates in unserved and underserved communities.
The company's broadband accelerators (BBAs) helped each provider extend their bandwidth while pushing their services beyond their traditional boundaries.
"Whether it is access to important health care and other critical services or communicating with friends and family through the Internet’s social aspects, Actelis understands what end users want from their broadband experience," Vivek Ragavan, president and CEO of Actelis, told TMCnet. "We also know how to accelerate wide-scale broadband adoption for carriers and, collectively, this is why we developed the BBA."
