EXFO Enhances Brix System Service Assurance Solution with VoLTE, Customer Experience Management and More

EXFO (News - Alert), a provider of next-generation test and service assurance solutions for wireless and wireline network operators and equipment manufacturers, announced the latest release of the Brix System, its award-winning service assurance solution.


Company officials say this release enhances scalability and monitoring functionality for every service supported by the multiplay solution (voice, video, data and mobile).  It addresses the rapidly growing multiplay service assurance requirements that help operators reduce capital expenditures by scaling to meet their rapid growth. The solution also helps reduce operational expenses by providing more comprehensive monitoring for simpler network troubleshooting.

“Multiplay operators will be able to enhance functionality across all their applications and services with one single release on one integrated service assurance platform,” said Vivian Hudson, vice president of EXFO's Service Assurance Division, in a statement. “As a result, network operators can dramatically reduce their operational and capital costs with EXFO's complete service assurance solution while rapidly growing their networks and adopting the new technologies their customers are demanding.”

The service assurance solution allows carriers to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across wireless backhaul and Metro Ethernet networks for thousands of end points, allowing them to support more network connections with less equipment – all via one integrated service assurance platform. Scaling improvements also extend across the Brix System's voice-over-IP (VoIP) and voice-over-LTE (News - Alert) (VoLTE) solutions, which now support over 30,000,000 busy hour call attempts (BHCA) and 100,000 circuits.

A key enhancement to the new service assurance solution is Voice over LTE (VoLTE) support, a feature that extends EXFO's existing LTE solution for mobile providers. With this capability, customers can integrate VoIP and VoLTE service assurance across multiple networks on one monitoring platform.

The solution now features new customer experience management capabilities that allow all operators to monitor and manage the quality of a customer's experience while using any service. It also gives improved reporting capabilities thanks to the user-generated custom reports that make it easier for users to quickly develop unique reporting portals to meet their individual needs.

Recently, EXFO announced the launch of EXpert IPTV (News - Alert) Test Tools for powerful IPTV analysis for access networks. The new EXpert IPTV Test Tools is the latest addition to EXFO's FTB-platform-based EXpert testing tools, a series of software applications leveraged through the FTB ecosystem platforms and designed to enhance and simplify FTTH/FTTx service deployments.
