Trilithic Test Accessories Featured, Including DC Blocks, Feedthru Terminations

By David Sims, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Trilithic officials recently featured the fact that their test accessories include DC blocks, feedthru terminations and impedance matching pads. The products are available up to 18 GHz and include many connector configurations.

For the DC blocks, the Trilithic XDB series of DC blocks can provide isolation from DC voltages up to 200 volts.

For feedthru terminations the XFT series of commercial-grade feedthru terminations are available with a variety of impedances, 50 and 75 Ohm are standard. And for Impedance Matching Pads, Trilithic's ZM and XZM series of impedance matching pads provide the minimum loss possible for resistive matching between different impedances.

Explaining the company’s environmental standards, officials say Trilithic is committed to the design of environmentally safe products: “As such, it is a goal of Trilithic to reduce the amount of hazardous substances and waste introduced into the environment. Trilithic is actively working to achieve compliance with the applicable environmental directives, specifically RoHS and WEEE, and plans to begin shipment of compliant products well in advance of the deadlines.”

Last month TMC’s (News - Alert) Susan J. Campbell wrote that the company provides communication test equipment for those performing in the broadcast, cable and RF/Microwave markets throughout the world.

This technology innovation is a result of the company’s ability to listen to and anticipate the needs of the customer base. Such an approach was critical in the development of Trilithic’s Standard and Customer Cavity Filters.

Trilithic offers the CH series of filters that are designed to cover a frequency range from 30 MHz to 400 MHz. The percentage of 3 dB bandwidth easily ranges from 0.2 percent to 3 percent. The CH series relies on a helical coil design to deliver a lower frequency operation.

Units within the CH series are readily available with two through six sections that provide a Chebyshev response with a lower insertion loss. The VSWR is set at less than 1.5:1 and each unit is housed in a high “Q” sturdy aluminum case. To minimize RF leakage, the cavities are iris coupled, as well as shielded.
