The STE-1200 CCTV Security Tester from XFTP by Trilithic is featured by company officials who say it’s intended for “the installation and maintenance of closed circuit video monitoring systems.”

According to company officials, the unit can be used to “display video feeds directly from security cameras, control the movement of Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) cameras, generate colorbar test images, capture addressing data from serial control systems, and test LAN cables.”

In addition to such functionality, the unit is also billed as easy to operate and carry, making it as simple as possible for a CCTV technician to install and maintain CCTV systems.

The product can also make adjustments to PTZ controllers “quick and simple,” according to company officials, who explain that support for more than 20 PTZ protocols, such as PELCO and Samsung (News - Alert), allows for easy adjustments such as zooming, panning, tilting, adjusting focus, and creating preset positions for security cameras.

It can be used to capture and analyze data from RS485 cable, can test cable in local area networks by displaying the connection status, sequence, and cable number and is capable of baud rates ranging from 150, and 600 to 19200 bps along with support for RS232, RS485, and RS422 interfaces.

In October, TMC’s (News - Alert) Susan J. Campbell wrote “listening to customers – it’s a concept that not all providers understand, but it is one that Trilithic has perfected.”

She notes that the company even got its start on this premise, providing communication test equipment solutions for those performing in the broadcast, cable and RF/Microwave markets throughout the world. This technology innovation is a result of the company’s ability to listen to and anticipate the needs of the customer base. Such an approach was critical in the development of Trilithic’s Standard and Customer Cavity Filters.

Trilithic offers the CH series of filters that are designed to cover a frequency range from 30 MHz to 400 MHz. The percentage of 3 dB bandwidth easily ranges from 0.2 percent to three percent. The CH series relies on a helical coil design to deliver a lower frequency operation.
