DOVADO recently celebrated 12 solid months of achieving 4G milestones such as major technical advancements and significant traction with leading 4G/LTE and 3G/DC-HSPA+ operators. Leading operators like Telenor, TeliaSonera (News - Alert) and Hi3G have been able to provide users with a better overall experience because the router facilitates connectivity throughout the home instead of only one user at a time.
Based in Sweden, DOVADO is a global supplier of mobile broadband routers and software and also the first company to add support for high speed 4G/LTE (News - Alert) USB modems in March 2011. After this, the company released the DOVADO TINY, which is currently the smallest router in the world, which supports a huge range of commercial 4G/LTE USB modems.
The DOVADO TINY comes with the ability to offer SMS-based remote control and status notifications, which enable subscribers to use any mobile phone and interact with their DOVADO TINY even from a remote location.
In a release, Thomas Axaeus, CEO of DOVADO said, “The emergence of 4G/LTE has enabled mobile operators to rapidly deliver a superior broadband experience at a lower cost than the bulk of fixed broadband alternatives. DOVADO routers with 4G/LTE support are now perceived as a viable backhaul technology, especially in situations where a decent fixed broadband alternative is non-existent. By working with 36 different LTE frequency groups worldwide, DOVADO is able to hit the ground running in each market we enter by offering a truly global LTE device.”
The company now plans to expand its operations by investing and preparing for a number of operator launches in Europe, the Middle East and India. This will further strengthen its market standing as one of the leading brands that support a large range of 4G/LTE USB modems, irrespective of geography or frequency.
Axaeus also said, “At DOVADO, our expertise in plug & play technology means that operators have access to a cost-effective tool that not only boosts their 4G/LTE product portfolio, but also increases customer satisfaction. The benefits of offering a router/modem bundle, rather than just the modem alone, are tangible.”
