BTI Systems (News - Alert), an innovator in wireless telecommunications, recently revealed it is now supporting a major London metro network enhancement program from Epsilon Telecommunications.
Known as a "Global Network Exchange," Epsilon provides a managed presence around the world for carriers and service providers. Epsilon Telecommunications has significantly expanded its deployment of BTI's Integrated Services Delivery Platform.
The London metro network enhancement program is designed to deliver innovative IP, Ethernet and wavelength services for service provider customers, increase capacity, and improve operational efficiencies.
As part of the London metro ROADM (News - Alert) expansion, Epsilon will upgrade its existing optical network to BTI's Dynamic Optical Layer including 4D ROADMs.
"As a global provider, we are driven by service excellence and lean operational objectives. Partnering with BTI helps us achieve our dual mission by simplifying network operations and management, while intelligently increasing capacity as we continue to introduce new, high-value services," said George Szlosarek, CTO of Epsilon, in a statement.
"Leveraging BTI's innovative, feature-rich portfolio, we can rapidly and cost effectively provision services in days, not weeks, and establish a solid foundation for a seamless migration to 100G and beyond," Szlosarek added.
Epsilon offers global interconnect services, physical co-location facilities in strategically significant locations, and system integration and engineering support services. The company serves more than 350 carriers and service providers, with access to more than 1,000 operators worldwide.
Thanks to its highly successful global network and recent deployment of BTI ROADM solutions in Epsilon's Singapore metro, BTI was selected to help Epsilon scale its Ethernet core network in London, and expand its London metro ROADM network.
To enhance its London Ethernet core network, Epsilon has implemented additional BTI PVX 24/4 modules to double network capacity and will power 20G stacking across four London sites. Epsilon will also deploy BTI's packetVX 80 (PVX 80), a high-capacity 10 Gigabit Ethernet switching module for the BTI 7000 Series.
