Redline Communications Group (Redline), a provider of WiMAX (News - Alert) and broadband wireless infrastructure products, announced has received U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) acceptance as well as “Buy American” status from the USDA Rural Utility Services (RUS).

Redline officials said that these were awarded for the latest additions to its RedMAX, RedCONNEX and RedACCESS families of products. The company has a full set of both fixed and nomadic RedMAX WiMAX products and broadband wireless infrastructure (BWI) products. These include new MAX+ AN-80i, 4.9 GHz RedCONNEX and RedACCESS AN-80i and latest RedMAX AN-100UX high-powered base station are qualified for deployment by U.S. operators under rural broadband funding programs.

The USDA Rural Development's aim is to increase economic opportunity and improve the quality of life for rural residents. With the acceptance of USDA and achievement of “Buy American” status of the Redline products, network operators in the United States can take advantage of a federal rural broadband funding program while deploying Redline's broadband wireless products in support of rural residential, business and community wireless services.

Redline's FCC (News - Alert) approved 3.65 GHz MAX+ AN-80i is the company’s broadband wireless infrastructure product that facilitates both point-to-point and point-to-multipoint connections of up to 50 Mbps, in 10 to 20 MHz channels.

Redline's RedCONNEX AN-80i is company’s broadband wireless infrastructure product that offers long-range point-to-point connections in 4.9 GHz public safety band as well as license-exempt 5.2, 5.4 and 5.8 GHz bands. It also provides support for low-latency voice, video and data communications. RedACCESS AN-80i is also a broadband wireless infrastructure product that offers point-to-multipoint connections with similar specifications and is ideal for applications such as video surveillance and transportation systems.

Redline's RedMAX AN-100U and AN-100UX are company’s WiMAX forum certified products. Both the FCC approved products are available for deployment in the 3.65 GHz bands and ideal for rural broadband deployments. The company claims that these base stations have been deployed by more than 160 carriers around the world.

Redline's element management solution, RMS, facilitates network operators to easily deploy, control, monitor and upgrade each Redline WiMAX and BWI component in their network. It also functions as a gateway between the company equipment in the network and the billing and operating systems. The product also offers an operator with a      single service creation and enablement point within the network - for advanced broadband wireless services, said officials.

Redline's approved products had to undergo USDA's rigorous testing process. After acceptance these products have been included on the USDA's designated ‘list of materials acceptable for use in telecommunications systems’ for access by communication providers participating in the RUS funding program.

The RUS telecommunications program is designed to assist US communication operators in developing, planning and financing the construction of broadband communications by providing financial grants to enable operators to deploy broadband infrastructure services in rural, economically-challenged communities where services currently do not exist.
