Sequans Opens New Office in China to Expand Its Operations

Sequans Communications, a 4G chipmaker, is a well known provider of LTE and WiMAX (News - Alert) chips to equipment manufacturers and mobile operators across the world. The company recently declared that it has the opened a new office in Shanghai, China. The reason behind opening the local presence is to offer its services to its Chinese customers, and to further address the company's quickly mounting business demands in China.

In tandem, the company declared that it has hired Alex Shang as the China country manager. With numerous years of experience, Shang is an expert in wireless and telecom. Prior to this appointment, he has handled business development in both China and the United States for well known companies that include Ericsson, Motorola (News - Alert), and Nortel.

Currently, the company is offering WiMAX and LTE chips for various projects in China. These include WiMAX projects with Huawei and LTE projects with China Mobile (News - Alert). Recently, Sequans has supplied LTE chips and USB dongles to power China Mobile's recent introduction of the world's first TD-LTE demonstration network in Shanghai for the World Expo.

The new location of Sequans Communications China is at number 567 Tianyaoqiao Road, Sen Ben Plaza, Suite 417, Xu Jia Hui, Shanghai.

LTE (News - Alert) solutions from Sequans offer features such as high performance category 3 throughput, TDD and FDD for global compatibility. In addition to that, the company provides ultra proficient MIMO decoder for exceptional mobile performance.

The company’s LTE development program was started in 2009. This program is supported by Motorola and Alcatel-Lucent, two of the world’s well known system vendors.

Sequans is offering Mobile WiMAX semiconductor solutions for both end user devices and base stations. All of the company’s products are based on the 802.16e Release 1.0 standard and are WiMAX Forum (News - Alert) Certified.

Sequans chips are exploited by the reputed WiMAX networks across the globe and will soon be utilized by the world's renowned LTE networks. Sequans is established in 2004. The company is based in Paris, France and having their additional offices all over the world. These locations include USA, United Kingdom, Israel, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, and China.
