RAD Gears up for Ethernet Expo Americas 2011, a Carrier Ethernet Event
In just a few days, RAD Data Communications (News - Alert) will join multiple other companies at the “must-attend Carrier Ethernet networking event of the year in the Americas” – Light Reading’s Ethernet Expo Americas 2011.
The 12th annual event, taking place in New York City Nov. 8-9, brings together dozens of experts from the service provider, supplier and analyst communities in New York City to explore what’s hot in the Carrier Ethernet industry and posit where the industry is heading in the coming decade. RAD, a leading provider of Carrier Ethernet technology, will join other big names like Alcatel-Lucent (News - Alert), Juniper and Fujitsu at this year’s event.
High performance Ethernet, commonly referred to as Carrier Ethernet, is quickly becoming the preferred technology for controlling network communications costs, consolidating services onto a common infrastructure and enabling more tailored services for consumers, enterprises and operators. Ethernet Expo has a mission of providing the most comprehensive coverage of the Ethernet revolution. Ethernet Expo Americas 2011 includes two parts: a conference, moderated by analysts from Light Reading's (News - Alert) market research division, Heavy Reading, and an exhibition.
Ethernet Expo Americas 2011 covers three major topics covered during two days: next-generation business services for enterprises; wholesale services and interconnection; converged network solutions that support business services, consumer triple-play/VoD services, and mobile backhaul applications.
In addition to exhibiting and networking, RAD will be participating in a session on Nov. 8 at 11 to 12:20 p.m. called “Building Virtualized, on-Demand Cloud Networks,” a network that will explore how service providers and large enterprises can build highly scalable, low-latency, on-demand cloud networks with the latest generation of Carrier Ethernet, MPLS, and packet-optical platforms. Motty Anavi, vice president of business development for RAD, will be joined by officials from Ciena, Fujitsu, Accedian Networks and FiberLight.
On Wednesday, Nov. 9, RAD’s Vice president of Ethernet Access Eitan Schwartz will sit on a panel discussion called “Carrier Ethernet Network Solutions (News - Alert): The Competitive Advantage of Multiple Access Options.” The panel will explore how service providers can become more competitive and increase their revenue-generation potential through maximizing their service reach and coverage density by providing customers with multiple access options. Schwartz will be joined by fellow panelists from Actelis (News - Alert), Positron Access Solutions, Transition Networks and MegaPath.
In other company news, last week RAD was busy in Chicago at the 4G World conference and expo exhibiting its Carrier Ethernet mobile demarcation device, the ETX-205A. The company has designed the ETX-205A for mobile backhaul, wholesale services and business applications. A member of the RAD’s EtherAccess portfolio, the device enables pure Ethernet backhaul and also the consolidation of 2G, 3G, and 4G/LTE traffic at base stations.
