InnerWireless Expands Compatibility Between DAS and Telemetry Systems
By Calvin Azuri, TMCnet Contributor
InnerWireless, Inc. has expanded compatibility between its Horizon Distributed Antenna System and Philips’ (News - Alert) family of IntelliVue Telemetry System with Smart-hopping technology. InnerWireless provides end-to-end in-building wireless solutions for healthcare, enterprise, hospitality/gaming and government markets.
Horizon supports Philips’ IntelliVue Smart-hopping solutions advanced features including a patented technology that maintains seamless connections between the central station and telemetry and bedside monitoring devices to provide uninterrupted patient care. In addition, Horizon supports Philips’ IntelliVue Smart-hopping solutions’ high degree of scalability, with capacity to support over 1,000 telemetry devices or wireless bedside monitors. Thus, InnerWireless’ support for Philips’ Smart-hopping 2.4 GHz solution provides hospitals with additional choices for delivering cost-effective, hospital-wide medical telemetry. Hospitals are also able to holistically manage their wireless environment and minimize the number of single purpose wireless networks by utilizing the InnerWireless converged wireless platform.
InnerWireless was the first DAS vendor to successfully integrate and deploy the Philips medical telemetry application on a DAS. InnerWireless’ layered spectrum-assignment technology and segment-based coverage provides straightforward integration for lower-powered radio sources such as the Philips 2.4 IntelliVue telemetry solution. According to Ed Cantwell (News - Alert), president, CEO and chairman of InnerWireless, the capability to provide medical telemetry and portable monitoring in a hospital is a good proposition. InnerWireless’ relationship with Philips allows it to optimize solutions as the demand for wireless solutions continues to grow and caregivers benefit from InnerWireless’ highly flexible converged wireless architecture.
The InnerWireless Horizon Converged Wireless Platform can deliver almost every wireless service. It supports a broad spectrum of wide-area and local-area wireless services such as 3G and 4G cellular, 802.11 a/b/g/n, whole-house multi-frequency medical telemetry, fire/life/safety, paging and two-way radios optimized for voice, location and data. This ensures seamless integration with advancing technologies and applications, while providing a secure wireless solution for the hospital.
Horizon, a broadband, converged wireless distributed antenna platform, is the only solution capable of enabling mission and life-critical wireless network performance. With its hybrid technology architecture, Horizon offers a five-year warranty and sets the wireless standard for trouble-free operation. Moreover, Horizon’s eco-friendly “green” design and inherent system longevity yields the lowest total cost of ownership for an in-building wireless system.
