Amico Games Offers an Insight into the Growing Chinese Mobile Network Industry

Amico Games Corp., an information technology company dealing in developing and operating mobile phone multiplayer networked games, has revealed the highlights of the growing Chinese mobile network industry.

Recently Reuters (News - Alert) commented that China has spent more than $880 million in expanding its 3G telecom network in the first quarter of this year 2010 with almost one-third of the money going to its home-grown TD-SCDMA standard.

The TD-SCDMA service has inspired more than 4.8 million new subscribers between January and March this year. In a news conference, the Ministry of Information and Industry Technology spokesman the attributed this rise to the increase in total number of 3G users in China to over 18 million.

In 2009, three telecom operators in China spent about $21 billion to build their 3G networks. China Telecom (News - Alert) recently publicized their aim to invest $1.71 billion USD towards the expansion and optimization of its 3G CDMA2000 network. They also expect 100 million subscribers by the end of 2010.

According to statistics released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) on the 1st of April, the number of mobile subscribers in China has increased by 18.6 million during the first two months of 2010, pushing the national total to 765.97 million.

The Chinese telecom industry produced a total revenue of $20.6 billion during the two-month period and up to 6 percent over the corresponding year.

Peter Liu, president of the the company, commented that they are excited about the fact that there is an increase in the number of people subscribing to the expanding mobile networks. It is their company's goal to capitalize on this growth. They have very large target market and as long as the Chinese mobile market continues to grow it bodes well for Amico's access to more mobile game users.

In related news, Amico enjoyed smooth growth in new game users in February 2010 and Galaxy Software acquired by Amico Games.
