Bridgewater Systems (News - Alert), a developer of mobile personalization services, has announced that Ed Ogonek, president and CEO, will participate in a panel discussion called "Monetizing Mobile" at the RBC Capital Markets 2010 Technology, Media & Communications Conference in New York, to be held June 9 at 4 p.m. 

Bridgewater creates technology that helps service providers to efficiently manage and profit from mobile data services, content and commerce. Its mobile personalization portfolio provides a real-time, unified view of subscribers including entitlements, devices, networks, billing profiles, preferences and context.

More than 150 service providers including America Movil, Bell Canada, Clearwire, Cox, Hutchison Telecom, Iusacell, Scartel, SmarTone-Vodafone, Sprint (News - Alert), Tata Teleservices, Tatung, Telmex, Telstra, and Verizon Wireless use Bridgewater's solutions to deliver mobile services to over 150 million subscribers.

 

Bridgewater recently opened a new "Center of Excellence" in collaboration with Wesley Clover (News - Alert) in Gurgaon, near Delhi, India.

 

Officials with Bridgewater said that the Center of Excellence will serve as the hub for the Asia Pacific region in three key areas -- Mobile data technology development for Bridgewater's intelligent control products; sales and customer support; and professional services.

 

"Bridgewater's new center of excellence in India is a key part of our strategy to expand globally," said Ogonek, in a statement. "India's rapidly growing mobile data market and advanced R&D skills are central to our success"

 

Ogonek said that the center of excellence will provide technology development for the company's global product portfolio and offer sales, professional and support services for the customers and partners across the Asia Pacific region.

 

In February Bridgewater Systems had announced that four Tier 1 operators in Europe, North America, and Asia Pacific are offloading 3G data traffic to WiFi (News - Alert) hotspots and femtocells using Bridgewater's new mobile data offload solutions.
