The two companies are to combine the Cymphonix (News - Alert) XLi technology with the D-Link Wishfi product line. Said combination is geared to augment targeted advertising schemes aimed at visitor-based and hospitality networks.
Wishfi is known for being an industry pioneer. It is designed to offer revenue-generating advertising and content-messaging activities geared at assisting such visitor-based and hospitality networks as executive office suites, coffee shops, hotels and cafes. As Nick Tidd (News - Alert), president of D-Link North America, said, Wishfi’s attractiveness to these networks is the ability it offers—its users can micro-target information to individuals who are part of this network.
Cymphonix’ distinctive XLi technology, said Tidd, dramatically boosts the capabilities of Wishfi. He said that it increases D-Link’s (News - Alert) visibility into converged Internet traffic, thereby making Wishfi more precise. D-Link, said Tidd, is delighted to strengthen the value proposition of this core product by being able to offer customers even more ways to monetize Internet services through this new collaboration.
Brent Nixon, president and CEO of Cymphonix, said that D-Link’s Wishfi MediaSpace is a cutting-edge solution that helps craft a new value-added service in addition to offering visitor-based and hospitality network operators new revenue streams. He said that Cymphonix is able to help Wishfi MediaSpace to deliver targeted advertising via the use of its XLi OS. This provides full visibility to all Internet content, and said Nixon, Cymphonix is very happy to be able to work together with D-Link on this initiative.
Wishfi MediaSpace is able to assist hospitality and visitor-based networks as they login to the Internet by offering up targeted information—ranging from targeted internal messages to sponsored advertisements—as part of the browser window. Cymphonix XLi OS, meanwhile, is able to sit in-line with browser traffic and, thanks to it being content-aware, is able to tailor-fit sponsored information to users’ interests and preferences.
In related news, D-Link rolled out home monitoring, smart energy solutions.
